DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones has announced this Monday that the schedule of the opening of classes under basic education stays the same, June 3, 2019, for the school year 2019-2020. She said that the agency's executive committee has already approved the school calendar which set to be released next week.
The secretary elaborated that there have been 3 major considerations that made them reluctant to move the school calendar. And these are as follow:
1. School Facilities
2. Health
3. Other Summer Activities
However, for the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has already ordered all State Universities and Colleges as well as Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) to shift their respective academic calendars to August starting the Academic Year (AY) 2019-2020.
