PRESS RELEASE

DepEd CALABARZON assures personnel of immediate release of January - February salary differential, clothing allowance within the week

Cainta, Rizal, March 30, 2020 - In its desire to sustain the welfare of all personnel in the region amid the difficulties brought about by the prevalent COVID-19 crisis, the Department of Education (DepEd) Region 4A CALABARZON assures regular employees of the immediate release of salary differential for January and February on March 30-31 and the issuance of P6,000 clothing allowance of April 1, 2020.

Regional Director Wifredo Cabral has given instructions to the Regional Office (RO) Finance Division to prioritize the release of the said salary differential and benefit to regular DepEd personnel in light of the prevailing circumstances within the entire Luzon that has been under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) since March 17, 2020.

"I would like to assure all teaching and non-teaching personnel that balance in our payroll account can accommodate the payment of salary differential for January and February 2020 because the salary increase for March was already incorporated in the March payroll," RD Cabral said.

Meanwhile, the regular payroll for April will be submitted to the Landbank of the Philippines within the week pending the availability of fund transfer from Schools Division Offices (SDOs) and Notice of Cash Allocation (NCA) which is expected by April 2, 2020

"However, all field personnel are advised to check their own account balance because availability date may vary depending on bank transaction schedules. Also, SDOs are advised to monitor their respective Modified Disbursement Scheme (MDS) accounts starting April 1 to facilitate fund transfer to fast track the release of April salary," RD Cabral added.

In addition, the RO will also issue hazard pay worth Php 500 per day to personnel who are physically reporting as part of the skeletal workforce. In compliance to Administrative Order No. 26 issued by the Office of the president on March 23, all SDOs in CALABARZON are expected to follow suit, subject to the availability of their savings.

"We would like all personnel in the region to feel that the DepEd, headed by Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones, is in solidarity with their families in these times with the fast-track processing and release of the salaries and benefits of employees, ensuring that welfare of its learners and staff are prioritized," concluded RD Cabral.
