Fast-track the release of PBB 2018 to DepEd employees

The performance-based bonus or PBB 2018 has started to be released to the school-based personnel in various divisions in Region XII. DBM is processing the documents of all regions on a first-come-first-serve basis. However, due to the crisis brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, many teachers have been clamoring to release the said bonus to all regions the soonest time possible.

The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) also stressed and appealed to the Department of Budget and Management to release the PBB 2018 the soonest time possible as the DepEd employees have been waiting for it for almost 2 years now.

"On the matter of the 2018 PBB, however, we must stress that most of the regions nationwide are still lagging at the endorsement, validation, and evaluation stages. These regions include the DepEd-NCR, which has been under ECQ for four weeks now, and other large regions where majority of education personnel are found. We appeal to the DBM, the AO 25 Secretariat which it heads, its Organization, Position Classification and Compensation Bureau, and the relevant DepEd Regional and Central Offices to swiftly act and cure their system delays so that our DepEd employees receive the 2018 PBB at the soonest time possible. Public school teachers and other education personnel have been waiting for this benefit for about two years now. They, who make up majority of government employees and are lower middle-income earners, also are crying out now for government to ease their financial hardships, so government should immediately deliver to them their unpaid benefits like the PBB," ACT said on their FB page.
