With the approval from the IATF to the DepEd's Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP), it is now official that the school year 2020-2021 will start on August 24, 2020 until April 30, 2021.
In the official statement from DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones, she delivered the highlights of this year’s school calendar and activities. Sec. Briones emphasized that she will authorize the conduct of distance learning activities on Saturdays as part of the LCP of the department. Hence, the total class days will be 203 days for this school year.
Because of the compressed school year, I am is exercising the prerogative to authorize the conduct of distance learning activities on Saturdays. Should religious considerations prohibit these Saturday activities, they shall be undertaken on Sundays. In all, the total class days in the 2020-2021 school calendar will be 203 days.
