PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION GUIDELINES IN AREAS UNDER GENERAL COMMUNITY QUARANTINE
(Effective May 1, 2020)

Number of Passengers ALLOWED according to vehicle
BUS AND JEEPNEYS
50% of the vehicle’s capacity, excluding the driver and conductor
VANS AND TAXIS
Only two passengers per row except for driver’s row where only one passenger is allowed
TRICYCLES
Only one passenger in the side-car, no backriding
PRIVATE CARS
Only one passenger in the front seat; two passengers in a row in front-facing seats
MOTORCYCLES
Only the d river is allowed, no backriding
BICYCLES and the like
(scooters, e-bikes) allowed; must stay in bike lanes

Preventive Measures to be practiced
  • Wearing of face masks and gloves for the drivers
  • Temperature checks for all commuters
  • Disinfection of vehicles, terminals, and PUVs
  • Social distancing inside the vehicle, and in queues
  • PUV and Terminal Operators shall adopt contact tracing measures. Passengers are encouraged to take note of their trips as well.

OTHER GUIDELINES

Private cars and motorcycles will be allowed to operate only for essential travels as defined by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF)

Provincial buses will not be allowed to stop, pick-up and drop off in areas under ECQ

Jeepneys will be limited, according to LTRFB guidelines

Taxis and TNVs will be allowed to operate, but physical distancing and sanitary practices shall strictly be observed

Tricycles may be allowed to operate to deliver "feeder" services, subject to guidelines

Motorcycle taxis are still PROHIBITED

Free transport services for frontliners are STILL AVAILABLE. However, if they opt to commute in PUVs, they should be given priority seating

National Government, LGUs, hospitals and facilities shall provide transportation services for their constituents

To lessen the passengers/commuters, agencies shall accept online applications and transactions

Authorities responsibilities for enforcement, such as PNP, AFP, LTO, Inter-Agency for Council for Traffic (I-ACT), and LGUs will post enforcers and locations, conduct random spot-checking and enforce distancing

Number-coding is lifted during GCQ

Malasakit help desks will be available in transport terminals and other locations

Private vehicle owners, PUV drivers, and operators, and private or public transport terminal operators who VIOLATE the guidelines will be SANCTIONED and PENALIZED
