The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has allocated 7.7 Billion Pesos for the implementation of its Free Wi-Fi for All Program. The said allocation is included in its proposed 2021 budget.
Under this "Free Wi-Fi for All Program", DICT shall establish around 23, 100 lives sites in public places and state universities and colleges by the end of 2021.

DICT Secretary Gregorio Honasan II san that they will be deploying the most number of sites to public schools and SUCs in the country in order to help students and teachers cope up with the new normal in education.
“We are aiming to provide every public school and SUC with free Internet connectivity and access to aid our students and teachers adapt to the new normal in the education sector. This is part of our commitment to DepEd, CHED and TESDA to ensure the education sector’s access to broadcast, connectivity and digital security this upcoming school year while the country is still under state of public health emergency,” said Honasan.
According to DICT, 10, 300 sites will be for public schools, and 1, 804 sites will be for the SUCs and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) institutions.
