Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced during a press briefing the areas that will be under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) from August 16 - 31, 2020. These areas are listed as follows:
- NUEVA ECIJA
- BATANGAS
- QUEZON PROVINCE
- ILOILO CITY
- CEBU CITY
- LAPU LAPU CITY
- MANDAUE CITY
- TALISAY CITY
- THE MUNICIPALITIES OF MINGLANILLA AND CONSOLACION
However, the President is yet to announce on Monday whether Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal will remain under MECQ.
