Despite the numerous requests from various teachers' groups to provide them with internet allowance as it will be one of their primary necessities in facing the new et-up in education, the Department of Education clarified that there is no basis to give them the said allowance.
DepEd Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla that they are in currently communicating with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) in terms of additional cash allowances for teachers.
Sevilla also emphasized that public school teachers have received their annual "chalk allowance" that they can utilize for internet purposes.
