The Department of Education is now preparing the incentives and benefits for public school teachers. This is according to DepEd Undersecretary for Finance, Annalyn M. Sevilla, during a virtual briefing that happened on August 17.
Such benefits include annual medical checkup, World Teacher's Day incentives, hazard pay, and COVID-19 benefits/packages, and more.
Sevilla noted that the department has allotted P400 million budget for the annual medical checkup/examination for public school teachers while the World Teacher's Day incentive shall be given in October with a total amount of P900 million, P1,000 for each public school teacher.
She also stressed that those public school teachers who will physically report to work in places under ECQ and MECQ shall be entitled to receive a hazard pay amounting to P500 per day.
