Going back to school during this pandemic poses a challenge for all - the school head, teachers, non-teaching personnel, parents, learners, and the broader community. But no matter how challenging the times may be, it is always necessary to make education equally important with the health safety of the learners as top priorities.
In its pursuit to uphold this right, the Department of Education (DepEd) ensures the learning continuity of learners amid the COVID-19 pandemic through the issuance of DO 12, s. 2020 “Adoption of the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan for School Year 2020-2021 in the Light of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency”.
Given this, everyone in DepEd including the schools is entrusted with a mission to ensure that learning continuity will happen in whatever contexts the learners are in. The choice of the learning delivery modality as well as ensuring health and safety of all shall be the highest priority in implementing the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP).
To support schools in this undertaking, a School Effectiveness Toolkit (SET) of the Bureau of Human Resource and Organizational Development– School Effectiveness Division (BHROD-SED) is prepared to serve as guide in starting up the implementation of the school’s contextualized learning continuity plan in the new normal.
