Basic sight words are words that are very common in all types of communication, be it formal, informal, written, or oral communication, these words are always present and delivers the message in simplest manner. Dolch words in particular, can develop fluency, speed, and accuracy of reading which eventually leads to better comprehension.
Various reading techniques are used by the teachers and many of them succeeded in their campaign. However, there are still some who find it quite difficult to teach their learners to read well especially those who are in primary grade levels. It is suggested that we use these Basic Sight Words in all types of reading techniques so we can promote familiarity and confidence in reading when they know that most words are easy to read and understand. Checking the progress of the reading campaign should also be prioritized so you will be updated on how well your readers are doing. Setting the next step to take shall take place after a certain evaluation has been done and this is to follow up and make interventions if needed.
