The stigma of fearing numbers among our learners is still in line now-a-days and that should be changed.Many of our learners are experiencing math anxiety and some studies reveal that it is because of their phobia in fractions. Perhaps it can be traced that there are teachers who were unable to deliver basic lessons about fractions. Let us always remember that mathematics is a step by step process that if taught properly from the very beginning can build confidence and ease to our learners upon taking the consecutive lessons. A mathematics teacher once said "Math is like a chain that if you missed one important piece of a lesson you will break the whole chain". Teachers do not choose the subject to teach. We accept the challenge and adjust to what is best to our school and our learners. We know that taking the Mathematics subject is a huge pressure but do not over react, do not fear something you do not know, study and deliver the lessons one at a time and you will see that it is not that hard or confusing. Fraction, being one of the most feared lessons in Math, is actually fun to teach and brings greater challenge to our learners than other lessons. It ignites not just the numerical skills of the learners but also their logical skills or simply their "common sense".
