DepEd Update on the Salary Increase of Teachers in 2019

The Department of Education (DepEd) made an update last January 9, 2019 (Wednesday) during their press conference regarding the salary increase which all teachers have been waiting for.
The legal basis for this is the Executive Order No. 201 MODIFYING THE SALARY
SCHEDULE FOR CIVILIAN GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL AND AUTHORIZING THE GRANT OF ADDITIONAL BENEFITS FOR BOTH CIVILIAN AND MILITARY AND UNIFORMED PERSONNEL.

Thus, all teachers in the Department of Education shall receive salary increase in the year 2016 up to its last tranche which happened to be this 2019. All public school teachers can then expect an increase in their salaries effective this January 1, 2019.

Together with Sec. Briones is Usec. Anne Sevilla who told the press that, 2019 is the last year of the tranches, nun pong increase na na-approve during the time of President Benigno Aquino and dahil last na po ito, hindi naman po kasama 'yan sa 2018 budget at pag nag-reenact tayo ng 2018, wala 'yung provision ng fourth tranche.'' And so they will have to wait until the General Appropriations Act of 2019 to be approved.
