Service Credits for Teachers and MTs who Render Service During Summer

It has been a clamor for quite some time now if teachers who are still rendering their services during summer vacation are entitled to service credits. Based on the information released by the DepEd, services of teachers and MTs shall only be up until April 5, 2019 and the next day shall be the official start of summer vacation. Hence, teachers and MTs are not required to report to their stations to render their services. However, it is indeed true that many of them are still doing reports and tons of paperwork up to this date so the question now is, will they be able to receive service credits for doing so?

Dr. Diosdado M. San Antonio, Regional Director of IV-A CALABARZON has stated this on his Facebook post:

"My fondest wishes for our fellow teachers to enjoy their much deserved summer vacation. Teachers 1-3 and MTs who are not OICs/TICs are officially paid their 2019 proportional summer vacation pay on the basis of service rendered during the school year 2018-2019 which has ended today.

In cases where their services are needed during summer vacation, our fellow teachers deserve to be granted service credits.

Thank you, brothers and sisters, in the teaching profession for giving your best selves to make sure that the youngsters under your care are able to become prepared for 21st century citizenship!"
Thanks to Dr. Diosdado M. San Antonio this issue has been cleared and we hope that this shall be implemented to all regions nationwide.
