DepEd, working on to release the salaries for March and April

The Department of Education has again made an update on its actions to release the salaries of all the teaching and non-teaching employees amidst the country's fight against COVID-19.

In the post of DepEd Usec. Annalyn M. Sevilla on her official Facebook page, she stressed that processing the compensation and benefits of its entire workforce will take time and that they need to proactively process and prepare documents so it will soon be reflected to the employees' bank accounts.

DepEd Sec. Leonor Briones, however, advises that while the Department is giving its massive effort to cater to the needs of its employees, they will have to spend it wisely and prioritize health needs to get through in this dark time.

Pls remember that deped workforce is almost a million already and processing of compensation/benefits takes time; we need to proactively process and PREPARE documents until it reach the Banks for remittance to employees accounts. We need to take into consideration the urgency of tasks and at the same time follow existing financial policies and guidelines. Sec Briones has relayed the direction and instructions to all RDs yesterday in the telecon/meeting. DepEd has to take care of the welfare of our employees, with an advice to spend their salaries and benefits with prudence and to prioritise health needs specially at this challenging time. -  Anne Sevilla.
