DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones said that teaching and non-teaching personnel may voluntarily participate in the COVID-19 activities to be led by their LGUs.
Some local government units are requesting the DepEd personnel in their area to help them in such activities like the distribution of food stubs to the families of their pupils.
Sec. Briones pointed out that these LGUs should take charge and give proper training and supervision towards those activities to assure that no person will be put at risk.
Moreover, Briones stressed that all existing health precautions and social distancing protocols shall be strictly observed followed in the conduct of all related activities.
LGUs are also requesting the use of public schools as quarantine areas to which DepEd instructed that the schools must meet the guidelines set by the DOH before its approval.
